When we went to Modena, Italy, home of traditional balsamic vinegar. While there, we came across some fantastic ways of using balsamic vinegar on fruits and vegetables.

This one intrigued us, it was balsamic with chocolate! And we had to try it, and let us tell you, it is beyond fantastic!

Chocolate balsamic vinegar is a unique and versatile condiment that can be used to add a touch of sweetness and sophistication to both sweet and savory dishes.

It is typically made by adding chocolate extract or cocoa powder to aged balsamic vinegar.

This gives the vinegar a rich chocolate flavor and a velvety texture.

Here is where you can use it. It is a delicious addition to salads, marinades, and sauces. It can also be drizzled over fruits, cheeses, and desserts.

Chocolate balsamic vinegar has a rich, sweet, and slightly tart flavor. It is typically darker in color than traditional balsamic vinegar, and has a thicker, more syrupy consistency.

The chocolate flavor is subtle but distinct, and complements the acidity of the vinegar perfectly.

Chocolate balsamic vinegar can be used in a variety of ways. It is often drizzled over fresh fruit, such as strawberries, raspberries, and bananas.

It can also be used to make salad dressings, marinades, and glazes. It is even delicious in desserts, such as ice cream, cakes, and mousse.

Here are some ideas for how to use chocolate balsamic vinegar:

  • Drizzle it over fresh fruit, such as strawberries, raspberries, and bananas.
  • Use it to make a salad dressing with olive oil, Dijon mustard, and honey.
  • Marinate chicken, pork, or beef in chocolate balsamic vinegar before grilling or roasting.
